South Africa's world famous Krugerrand gold coins are seen around the world as a solid investment. However, there are claims that tests on proof Krugerrands minted last year by the South African Mint have less gold than they should. The Reserve Bank of South Africa has admitted this is true. ABN's Chris Bishop broke this story.

Kann bitte einer von Euch eine Kurzfassung schreiben, bitte.
Ich meine verstanden zu haben, das dies nur eine Serie
von KR im Juni von 2011 betrifft, bin aber nicht sicher.

Some Proof Krugerrand Coins Produced In 2011 Found Short On Gold
Some of the proof Krugerrand coins minted in April and May 2011 have been found to be under-spec, meaning they contain less than the amount of gold they were supposed to contain. Krugerrand coins in question were not underweight, but as mentioned under-spec, which makes harder for coin dealers and collectors to detect that they are flawed. They have been found to contain up to 5 percent less gold than the quality specifications require. The problematic coins were first discovered by a South African collector.
